File Cabinet Pro is a file manager for the menu bar of macOS. Quickly navigate to files without cluttering your desktop. Open, move, rename, compress, mark, junk, copy and paste files, all from the menu bar. There are many file types that you can open locally in File Cabinet Pro or by launching other applications. It's easy to click on the directory in the icon view, drill through the directory in the list view, or navigate the file tree in the column view.
File Cabinet Pro is also a document-based application that comes with a built-in text editor, image viewer, PDF viewer, and media player.
File Cabinet Pro can be opened for editing/viewing of most file types, including:

- Create a subdirectory.
- Click into the subdirectory and open the document.
- Open the catalog in a new tab.
- Tag files with ease. Select the file in File Cabinet Pro, right-click, and simply add or remove file tags from the controls in the context menu.
- Display the selected files in the Finder.
- Rename the file.
- Copy and paste files.

- Think of items as icons, lists, columns, or cover stream views.
- Launch the app when you log in. When you log in to your Mac, you can automatically launch File Cabinet Pro (an optional feature, disabled by default).
- Create a list of all your favorite directories in the sidebar.
- Use the built-in lightweight text editor to create and edit TXT, RTF, RTFD, and .md files.
- Create TXT, RTF, RTFD, and .md files from text data on your clipboard.
- Create a text document from the Finder using File Cabinet Pro's Document Creator Finder extension (Note: To use this feature, you must enable the Finder extension in System Preferences under the Extensions tab).
- Use the built-in lightweight image editor to rotate images, crop images, and apply filters to images.
- Use the built-in media player to watch videos and play audio files.
- Use the built-in PDF viewer to view PDF files.
- Restore document versions for supported editable document types.
- Set global hotkeys to display and close the File Cabinet Pro window (optional feature, disabled by default).
- Preview the selected files in Quicklook by pressing the spacebar.
- Share files in applications that support sharing extensions, such as Mail and Mail.
- Use the View Checksum in File Cabinet Pro service to verify the SHA256, SHA1, or MD5 checksum of the file.
