Mirror for Fire TVv2.4.1

Mirror for Fire TV, an app for mirroring your Mac's screen and audio to Amazon Fire TV. You can also stream individual video files from your Mac to your Fire TV. In addition, we also provide the option to watch one window on Mac as well as another window on TV!

While using the app, there will be a delay of about 2 to 3 seconds (behind). So this kind of mirror is not suitable for the game. However, it's perfect for watching movies, presentations, watching photos, and more! The quality of your experience depends on the quality of your local network.

Tips to improve your experience

1. Restart your router. Just remove the power plug, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in. This will reset your router and make your home network faster and more stable. Why is this happening? Routers are essentially small computers with software. The software will have a small amount of memory leaks, and some processes will stop working properly over time. That's why it's a good idea to reset your router once in a while. Our recommendation: once a week.

2. Don't do network-intensive work when screen mirroring. As mentioned above, screen mirroring is network-intensive. For best performance, don't do other network-intensive work at the same time. This includes time machine backups on the web, as well as uploading/downloading large files from the internet while screen mirroring.

3. Put your Mac and Fire TV on the same router channel. Some routers (dual-band) create 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wireless networks. For best performance, put your Mac and Fire TV on the same network. Preferably, 5Ghz networks. But definitely not Mac on 5Ghz and Fire TV on 2.4Ghz, as this will negatively affect the performance of screen mirroring.

4. Use an AC or N router. Newer routers support Wifi AC and N. Older routers may only have Wifi B and/or G. B and G are no longer suitable for modern network tasks, so choose an AC or N router. If your router supports AC and N, also make sure your router is set up to use Wifi N or Wifi AC network.

How the app works

First, make sure that your Fire TV is on the same local network and in the same subnet as your Mac. Once you launch the app, you will see the app icon appear in the top bar of your Mac, and the app will look for your Fire TV on the web. It will show you when it finds your Fire TV. Now, you have two options:

Mirror your Mac screen

Use this option to place your Mac screen on your TV. In the source, you can choose which screen (or connected display) you want to display on your TV. If you have more than one application running on your Mac, you can also choose the application window that you want to see on your TV.

Play the video file

Use this option if you have a video file on your Mac and you want to play it on your TV. Put it in a box and it will be played on TV.

Settings (icon in the bottom right corner of the app): Click here to request support from our round-the-clock support staff. They usually respond to any queries you may have within 2 hours. If your issue is technical, please also provide diagnostic information.

Limitations: Apple has HDCP DRM protection to play iTunes movies. That means screen mirroring is not possible when watching movies from iTunes.

Turn on the sound: Check here to see if you can hear the sound coming from your Mac computer on your TV. If there is no sound, you need to download and install additional audio driver software (the driver can be downloaded in the activation method below).
